Configuring Mode Connector

In order to provide Foundational access to Mode, please follow the steps below:

First, let's get the Workspace ID of the Mode Analytics workspace that you'd like Foundational to analyze. You can do this by following these steps:

1. Go to Mode and sign in, by visiting https://app.mode.com

2. Open the left-side panel by clicking the M icon on the top left:

3. In the left panel, open the account drop-down menu by clicking on your account:

4. Select "Workspace settings":

5. You should now see the Workspace settings, which should look like the following:

6. Copy the Workspace ID from the page's URL, which would be the last component in the URL e.g., for the URL https://app.mode.com/organizations/ID1234, the Workspace ID is ID1234 . Keep this Workspace ID aside; We will need it soon when we configure the connector in Foundational. Notice that the ID is not your workspace name (“My Awesome Org Workspace”, in this example).

Now that we have the Workspace ID (or multiple IDs), the next step is to create a designated API key for Foundational to access with.

To do this, perform the following steps:

1. In the Workspace Settings page, select Default Settings in the left panel:

2. Select the API tab:

3. Click the Gear icon that's next to Workspace API Keys, and then select "Create new API key":

4. Create a new key for Foundational with a clear display name; This is the name you'll see for the key in Mode. Determine the expiration date - We recommend 365 days. Click Create to generate the new key:

5. You'll then get a new window with the new API key details. Copy the name and ID and put them aside.

​Important: Make sure to copy the API key secret before closing this window, as it will only be shown once.

6. Close the Key Secret window. Confirm you are seeing the new key in the list of API keys, and verify that you have the right ID for the new key.

Now that you have generated the API key for the Foundational connector, make sure you have the following details for the connector setup:

Then, follow these steps below:

1. Visit the Connectors Page at https://app.foundational.io/connectors, and then select the Mode connector:

2. In the right panel, click on Add new account:

3. Fill out the required parameters, Workspace ID, API Key ID, API Key Secret, and then scroll down and click Save.
