Connecting Looker Studio to Foundational allows Foundational to scan Looker Studio and determine lineage and downstream impact for your Looker dashboards.

During setup, you authenticate a Google account that is already connected to Looker Studio and grant Foundational permission to read Looker Studio assets.

A Google account with access to all relevant Looker Studio dashboards and data sources. ​

Your data warehouse is configured before setting up Looker Studio (for example, <a href="https://docs.foundational.io/en/articles/8377162-how-to-set-up-bigquery">BigQuery</a> or <a href="https://docs.foundational.io/en/articles/8292929-how-to-set-up-snowflake">Snowflake</a>).

- A Google account with access to all relevant Looker Studio dashboards and data sources. ​
- Your data warehouse is configured before setting up Looker Studio (for example, <a href="https://docs.foundational.io/en/articles/8377162-how-to-set-up-bigquery">BigQuery</a> or <a href="https://docs.foundational.io/en/articles/8292929-how-to-set-up-snowflake">Snowflake</a>).

The permissions you grant to Foundational during Google authentication enable it to:

- Read Looker Studio metadata ​
- List dashboards and reports ​
- Identify connected data sources ​
- Determine lineage and downstream impact

Access is limited to what Google grants during authentication.

Connect Foundational to Looker Studio

In Foundational, open the <a href="https://app.foundational.io/integrations" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Connectors &amp; Integrations</a> page. ​

In BI &amp; Analytics, select the Looker Studio card and click Connect. ​

The initial setup screen opens. Click Start Setup. ​

The Set Up New Connection screen opens.​ ​

Click Connect Google Account and select the account that has access to the required Looker Studio dashboards and data sources. ​

The final setup screen opens. To complete the connection, click Save. ​

1. In Foundational, open the <a href="https://app.foundational.io/integrations" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Connectors &amp; Integrations</a> page. ​
2. In BI &amp; Analytics, select the Looker Studio card and click Connect. ​
 
 
3. Click Add Account. ​

4. The initial setup screen opens. Click Start Setup. ​
 
 
5. The Set Up New Connection screen opens.​ ​
 
 
6. Click Connect Google Account and select the account that has access to the required Looker Studio dashboards and data sources. ​
7. Click Continue. ​
8. The final setup screen opens. To complete the connection, click Save. ​

That’s it. Foundational is now connected to Looker Studio.
